ARIA Property International will invest $150,000 over the next three years to help disadvantaged children realise their potential as part of a new partnership with The Smith Family.
The funds will help The Smith Family deliver its suite of education and learning programs to children in 18 disadvantaged communities across Queensland with a focus on children living in South Brisbane and West End.
ARIA Property International Founder and Managing Director, Tim Forrester said the company invested in The Smith Family because of its pragmatic and long term approach to solving the problem of disadvantage in Australia.
“As developers in the South Brisbane and West End area we are always committed to assisting local people with local issues. In times of economic hardship the social issues will continue to worsen and we believe everyone has a responsibility to make a difference. This difference is not just in the form of cash contributions but also the ARIA staff devoting their personal time to change the lives of those less fortunate,” Mr Forrester said.
ARIA Property will also work in conjunction with The Smith Family to deliver an internship program to select students from disadvantaged backgrounds who express an interest in pursing a career within the property sector.
The Smith Family’s General Manager in Queensland, Damian Foley, said the internship program will provide an invaluable vehicle of support to students aspiring to work within the property sector.
“At the centre of The Smith Family’s work and the heart of our organisation, is our belief in the power and possibilities of relationships. This internship will connect students with those in the community who possess the time and talent to help them build a better future for themselves,” Mr Foley said.
“We thank ARIA for its invaluable support and passionate commitment towards helping The Smith Family create a more caring and cohesive Australian society,” Mr Foley said.
