Local Arts Scholarship
We recognise that Brisbane Artists Academe workshops and classes are being very well attended and supported by the artists of Brisbane, and we would like to give back to Brisbane's artistic community the opportunity for one very deserving artist to qualify for the scholarship.
A programme will be worked out to suit the qualifications of the winning entry that will enable that artist to take full advantage of tutoring in areas they need developing, encouragement and guidance. This scholarship is open to anyone who feels they would qualify, and does not necessarily have to be a student of the Academe.
Our first inaugural Scholarship will be applied for by portfolio, photos or CD/DVD which can be sent via email or Australia Post. A short list will be decided on and an interview will be given for the final applicans, with the final decision made from those interviews.
Entries close 15th January 2009, and to enter you must send the following by email to krisstie@brisbaneartistsacademe.com.au, or you can post your entry to Brisbane Artists Academe, PO Box 3201, Newmarket Qld 4051. You must include in your entry:
1. Your name, address and contact details with your CV or Artists Resume.
2. 300-500 words on why you should be chosen for this scholarship and what you would like to particularly learn and why.
3. 3-5 images of your best work (Paintings or drawings).
Entries will be judged not on ability, but on your passion and determination to succeed, and the most promising student will be chosen.
Beginners are welcome to apply. Next year, for the 2010 year, the Scholarship winner will be announced at our inaugural end of Year Art Show around November 2009.
