The music says it all

More than a tribute show, John Waters' homage to John Lennon is a superb theatrical performance
As a member of the Beatles, and as a solo artist and international celebrity, John Lennon saw the world from a unique perspective. John also had a unique ability to translate his thoughts and feelings, his commentaries and observations about the world, into music and lyrics of rare beauty.

His prolific output of unforgettable songs and pithy comments has provided a goldmine of material for Australian actor and musician John Waters and Stewart D’Arrietta (Co-Creator and Musical Director)to create "Looking Through a Glass Onion", a very personal and intimate homage to John Lennon.

The show provides an insight into John Lennon's innermost thoughts as well as his provocative public statements. It also demonstrates why John Lennon is considered one of the 20th Century's greatest composers. The music rocks.

The band is tight and professional, and works it way effortlessly through a playlist of John Lennon hit songs that provided the soundtrack for a generation.

I couldn't recommend the show more highly.

About the artist.

As a theatrical performer John has starred in all the classics from Hair to Godspell, Dracula, Jesus Christ Superstar, My Fair Lady, The Sound Of Music, They’re Playing Our Song, The Hunting of the Snark, A Little Night Music, Love Letters, Children of a Lesser God, Oliver, The Graduate, An Ideal Husband , Influence, The Rocky Horror Show and The Swimming Club.

He wrote, financed and composed the rock musical ReUnion with friend Stewart D’Arrietta. He and Stewart also wrote the one man show Looking Through a Glass Onion, based on the life of John Lennon and toured nationally regularly since 1992 and also played six months in London’s West End in 1995. Glass Onion returns in an all new season for 2011-12.

He performed a one-man Cabaret season as Jacques Brel in Cafe Brel in the 70's and brought the show back to life as BREL in 2010 followed by the release of a cd of the same name.  He has performed the songs of Lennon & McCartney with Christine Anu, Leo Sayer & Rick Price in Let It Be in 2006, and with Jon Stevens, Jack Jones and Doug Parkinson in 2010.
