Originally published as a free, tabloid newspaper for from 1992 to 2005, the WESTENDER is a locally owned, independent, community newspaper.

Since making the move to an on-line edition in 2005, the Westender has continued to reflect the diversity of local society and encourage discussion and debate on issues affecting the community.

The Westender is one of Queensland's leading on-line newspapers, and ranks consistently highly with all the major search engines.

It has established a team of regular contributors locally, nationally and globally.
